Our practice is a modern private practice with the amenities you would expect. Our patients enjoy “one stop shopping,” so to speak, in that all blood work, ultrasounds, obstetric testing, bone density studies and a number of minor surgeries can all be done at our one office.
Endometrial Ablation: A minor surgery performed in the office to ablate or remove the uterine lining to treat heavy menstrual bleeding. This is a minimally invasive and very effective alternative to hysterectomy for appropriate patients. We offer two types of endometrial ablation, Thermachoice III and Novasure.
Essure: The “new tubal ligation.” A small caliber scope is placed past the cervix into the uterine cavity and allowing placement of a spring like coil into each fallopian tube that will occlude or block the tube in much the same was as tubal ligation. This procedure is permanent.
Hysteroscopy: The use of a scope to look and evaluate inside the uterus. Sometimes a D&C or sampling of the uterine lining is done at the same time.
Mirena: Mirena is a progestin releasing intrauterine device that is easily placed in the office, works for five years as a contraceptive, and is also a treatment option that reduces heavy periods.
Implanon: Implanon is a small soft polymeric rod that is implanted under the skin of the arm. It provides contraception for 3 years.
Colposcopy: The colposcope is an instrument that allows us to evaluate your cervix due to an abnormal pap smear. It looks like a pair of binoculars on a stand. Colposcopy allows us to use magnification to direct biopsy or treatment with great precision.
LEEP: LEEP is a procedure done to remove pre-cancerous cells from the cervix while performing colposcopy.
Cryotherapy: Cryotherapy is a treatment for cervical dysplasia. Freezing the area of dysplasia with a cryogenic probe destroys pre-cancerous cells. |
